Asia Expat Focus
Noto Financial Planning (NFP) specializes in working with cross border individuals and families living in Asia. We help clients manage their risk exposures and capitalize on opportunities, keeping flexibility in mind in case plans change.
Comprehensive Advice
Investment portfolios do not exist in a bubble. Investing is interrelated with other aspects of your financial situation - such as budgeting, risk management, and taxes. We look at your overall situation when providing advice.
Fee-Only Compensation
Noto Financial Planning works on a fee-only basis, and is only paid by our clients. See how we compare:
Commission-based advisers
Sometimes called 'free advice,' you get the type of advice investment and insurance companies are happy to pay for. Product providers encourage the sale of their most expensive products by offering higher commissions, which must ultimately be taken from your savings. Widespread abuse has led regulators in the UK and Australia to ban commissions for financial advisers.
Fee-based advisers
With stories of abuse increasingly common, some investors began seeing commissions as bad and fees as good. In response, a number of firms in the US began charging fees in addition to commissions, calling it ‘fee-based’ advice. It sounds confusingly similar to ‘fee-only,’ but the incentive to recommend a product based purely on potential commissions remains.
Fee-only advisers
‘Fee-only’ refers to the method of compensation in which advisers are only paid fees directly by their clients. By not accepting commissions, fee-only advisers force product and service providers to compete for recommendations based purely on client benefits, without the influence of any kickback. We provide a completely different service than advisers paid commissions.
Qualified Expertise
Today's financial markets demonstrate how important it is to have reliable evidence of your financial adviser's knowledge, professionalism, and integrity.
